WBMSC Recruitment 2024 Mode of Examination
The examination will be conducted in Kolkata only and will consist of two successive stages:
- Written Test (OMR Based):
- The written examination will be OMR-based with 200 marks.
- It will include 100 multiple-choice, objective-type questions, each carrying 2 marks.
- A negative marking of 1 mark will be applied for each incorrect/wrong answer.
- Questions will be in English, and candidates will have 1 & 1/2 (One and a half) hours to complete the test.
- Personality Test:
- The Personality Test will be conducted at the Commission’s office in Kolkata.
- Candidates, four times the number of vacancies, will be called for the verification of original documents based on merit.
- Candidates who qualify will be called for the Personality Test.
- The Personality Test carries 40 marks.
The final merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the written examination and the Personality Test.

The examination will be held in the Kolkata center only through (i) a Written Test (MCQ) and (ii) a Personality Test.
