WBPSC Clerkship Selection Process

Candidates will be selected through the Clerkship Examination 2023, which comprises two successive stages: i) Part-I (Objective Type) and ii) Part-II (Conventional Type – Written). Only candidates who qualify in the written examination will proceed to demonstrate elementary knowledge of computer operation and typing skills. The Direct Recruitment Examination is scheduled to take place at various centers in Kolkata and specific districts in West Bengal. WBPSC Clerkship Exam Pattern

Two Parts:

Part-I (Objective Type):

Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Total Marks: 100
Subjects: English (30 marks), General Studies (40 marks), Arithmetic (30 marks)

Part II (Conventional Type – Written):

Duration: 1 hour
Total Marks: 100
Subjects: English (Group A, 50 marks), Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali (Group B, 50 marks)

Computer Operation and Typing Assessment:

Assessed after qualifying in Part-I and Part-II.

Part I: Objective Type

1. English:

Vocabulary Emphasis on grasping and utilizing words effectively
Grammar Core principles of constructing sentences, managing tenses, and maintaining syntax

Synonyms and Antonyms Recognition and distinction of words with similar or opposing meanings

3. Arithmetic:

Divisibility Principles and rules governing divisibility
Fractions and Decimals Fundamental operations and practical applications.
Simplification Application of techniques to simplify mathematical expressions.
HCF and LCM Understanding and using them in problem-solving.
Partnership Principles and calculations associated with partnerships.
Average Comprehension and computation of averages.
Ratio and Proportions Grasping concepts and their practical application.
Percentage Performing calculations involving percentages.
