West Bengal Public Service Commission recruits Fire Operators as per the requirement of the West Bengal Fire Services under the Department of Fire & Emergency Services, Govt. of West Bengal. WBPSC Fire Operator Educational Qualification

For West Bengal Fire Operator Application candidates will have the bellow qualifications–

i) Must have passed the Madhyamik examination or equivalent from any Govt. recognized Board or Institution.
ii) The ability to read, write, and speak in Bengali is essential (not applicable to candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).

Desirable:

i) Minimum 01-year experience in fire fighting in any Govt. department or organization or Public Sector Undertaking or autonomous bodies.
ii) ITI Certificate in any discipline – Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Engineering.
iii) Swimming certificate from any government-recognized club or institute.

The qualifications may be changed as per the requirement. Candidates are requested to read the official Notification carefully after publication.

WBPSC Fire Operator Age Limit:

Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years

WBPSC Fire Operator Pay Scale: 

Rs. 5,400/- – Rs. 25,200/- with Grade Pay Rs. 2,600/-

WBPSC Fire Operator Recruitment Selection Process 2024

Selection of candidates will be through the Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test, and Personality Test. The exact Date, Time, and Venue for the examination/interview will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course as well as such information will be also available on the official website of the West Bengal Public Service Commission.

WBPSC Fire Operator Recruitment 2024 Physical Standards

Height and Chest Measurements:

Category	Height	Chest
Candidates of all categories	5’6” or 167.6 cm	32” or 81.3 cm (with expansion of 2” or 5 cm)
Candidates of Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbansis, and Other Hill Tribes	5’3” or 160 cms	32” or 81.3 cm (with expansion of 2” or 5 cm)

Endurance Tests:

Candidates must qualify in any four of the following endurance tests:

• • 1000-meter run within 5 minutes
  • Ladder climbing within 20 seconds
  • Lifting and carrying a sandbag weighing 63.5 kg continuously for a minimum of 50 meters
  • Running up three stories of a standard staircase within 1 minute
  • Rope climbing using only hands within 60 seconds
  • High jump of 1.22 meters or more.
