Sub-Inspector in the Subordinate Food & Supplies Service, Grade-III
No. of Vacancies: 480 Nos
Educational Qualification of WBPSC Food SI:
Pass the Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).
Must possess sound health and the ability to undertake extensive tours in rural areas of West Bengal.
Age Limit:
Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years.
Pay Scale:
Rs. 22,700/- to Rs. 58,500/-
The vacancies are in the Subordinate Food & Supplies Service, under the Food & Supplies Department, Govt. of West Bengal. The candidates will initially be appointed on a Temporary basis.
Candidates’ Selection of WBPSC Food SI :
Selection of candidates will be through Written Tests and Personality Tests. The written test will be held at various centers in West Bengal. The Personality Test will be held in the office of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal, in Kolkata.

Application Fee:
The examination fee for online payment via debit/credit card is Rs. 110/- along with a 1% service charge on the examination fee, which should not be less than Rs. 5/-. Additionally, there may be applicable service charges/GST as per government regulations. For those using Net Banking, a service charge of Rs. 5/- is applicable, while payment through a Bank Counter (offline) incurs a service charge of Rs. 20/-.
However, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories in West Bengal and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) having a physical disability of 40% and above are exempt from paying any fee. OBC candidates from West Bengal are required to pay the aforementioned fee. It’s important to note that SC/ST/OBC candidates from other states are not eligible for fee exemptions. No requests for fee refunds will be entertained, and the fee cannot be reserved for future examinations.
