West Bengal Government, through West Bengal Public Service Commission-2012 West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) Exam, is recruiting hundreds of Boys and Girls for various posts in various Blocks. Vacant posts were—Block Development Officer, Commercial Tax Officer, Agricultural Income Tax Officer, Excise Officer, Assistant Registrar, Labour Officer, Food and Supply Officer, Employment Officer, Registration and Stamp Revenue Officer, D.S.P. of State Police, Joint Block Development Officer, Deputy Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs and Fair Business Practice, Assistant Canal Revenue Officer, Junior Social Welfare Officer, Sub-Ordinate Land Revenue Officer, Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Chief Controller Officer of Correctional Service, Inspector of Co-Operative Society, Extension Officer of Panchayat and Rehabilitation Officer—

Required Qualification: Graduate Boys and Girls in any discipline from any recognised Universities may apply. This year final appearing degree course students were not eligible to apply.

Required Age:  21yrs to 32 yrs as on 01-01-2011. For the posts in Group-B (West Bengal Police Service); the required age is between 20yrs to 32 yrs as on 1-1-2011.

Age Relaxation—OBC-3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs and PH candidates- 10yrs. SC/ST and OBC Candidates from outside West Bengal will not receive any age relaxation, however they may apply as General candidates.

Selection Steps: Candidates will be selected by West Bengal Public Service Commission through 2012- West Bengal Civil Service (Executive)’s Exam. First there will be Preliminary Exam and then Main Written Exam. Preliminary Test will hold on respective centres at Kolkata and outside West Bengal whereas Main Test will hold only at Kolkata.
Job will be in four different groups, i.e. Group-A, Group-B, Group-C and Group-D. The available numbers of vacant posts will be announced later only after Written Test

How to Apply: Application can be prepared by neatly typing on 32×21 cm full scope size paper as per given format and then filling the details on own handwriting. Application format is available on the above mentioned site.

Along with application form enclosed the following documents—

  • 2 Nos. recent passport size photographs (one copy pasted on application form and then sign on it, other copy should kept safely for later use in Admit Card)
  • 2 Nos. self-addressed (including father name) envelope without any postal stamp.
  • Self attested copies of Age and Educational Certificates
  • Self Attested copy of Caste Certificate/PH Certificate, as required.
  • Crossed Postal Order or Treasury Challan of Rs.210 in favour of—“The Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal” and Payable at—“Kolkata”.

Treasury Challan is available from Government’s Treasury or Reserve Bank on following title—“0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. No fee required for SC/ST and PH (above 40%) candidates.

Last Date: Your application should reach within 15th November 2011. Application can be directly submitted from hand to hand during office hours too.
