SUB INSPECTOR OF POLICE (UNARMED BRANCH)
– Male: 181 Posts
– Female: 27 Posts
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
SERGEANT: 122 Posts
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
Note: The applicant must be able to speak, read and write Bengali Language. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts. (ii) For the applicant of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong District
Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards. See detailed notification (link given below).
Age Limit: The applicant must not be below 20 years and not more than 27 years as on 01.01.2021. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC and ST and by 3 years for OBC candidates of West Bengal only.
Female applicants are only eligible for the post of Sub-Inspectress (Female) (Unarmed Branch) in Kolkata Police.
Candidates’ Selection: The posts of Sub-Inspector/Sub-Inspectress (Unarmed Branch) and Sergeant in Kolkata Police shall be filled up on the basis of qualifying the Preliminary Examination which will act as screening examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Combined Competitive Examination and Personality Test to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
