1. SUB-INSPECTOR / LADY SUB-INSPECTOR
No. of Vacancies: 1088 Nos.
Branch wise vacancies:
Sub Inspector of Police (Unarmed Branch) – 753 posts
Lady Sub Inspector of Police (unarmed Branch) – 150 posts
Sub Inspector of Police (Armed Branch) (Male Only) – 185 posts
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or its equivalent.
The applicant must be able to speak, read and write in Bengali. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill subdivisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
Age Limit: Minimum 20 yrs and Maximum 27 yrs as on 01/01/2021
Pay Scale: Rs.32100 — Rs.82900
2. CONSTABLE / LADY CONSTABLE
Constable – 7440 Posts
Lady Constable – 1192 Posts.
Educational Qualification: Madhyamik Examination passed from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
The applicant must be able to speak, read and write in Bengali language. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
Note– NVF, Home Guard personnel and Civic Volunteers serving under West Bengal Police and desirous of applying should complete 03 (three) years of service as on 01.01.2021.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 yrs and Maximum 27 yrs as on 01/01/2021
Pay Scale: Rs.22700 — Rs.58500
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards. See detailed advertisement (link given below)
Candidates’ Selection: The posts of Constable/Lady Constable in the West Bengal Police shall be filled up on the basis of qualifying the Preliminary Written Test which will act as screening examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination and Interview to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
The posts of Sub-Inspector/ Lady Sub-Inspector (UB) and Sub-Inspector (AB) in the West Bengal Police shall be filled up on basis of qualifying the Preliminary Examination which will act as screening examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Combined Competitive Examination and Personality Test to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Application Fee of Rs.293/- (Rs.43 for SC/ST of West Bengal) for Sub-Inspector Posts and Rs.193/- (Rs,43 for SC/ST of WB) for Constable posts.. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking or any other option available. The last date of receipt of filled in Application Form through postal services (for off-line applicants) is 20.02.2021 (5 PM).
The last date of deposit of Application and/or Processing Fees in respect of only the applicants applying through on-line mode using Punjab National Bank Challan will be 23.02.2021 during banking hours
Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen.
