India Post, West Bengal Circle, under Department of Posts, is inviting application for 359 posts of POSTMAN and MAILGUARD through direct recruitment for the for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013 in West Bengal Circle. POSTMAN
Total Vacancies — 354 Posts (Gen—185; SC—89; OBC—74; ST—74). Out of total vacancies, 11 reserved for PH candidates and 37 reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

MAILGUARD
Total Vacancies — 5 Posts (Gen—4; SC—1; OBC—00; ST—00). Out of total vacancies 00 post reserved for PH candidates and 01 post reserved for Ex-Servicemen

Educational Qualification (For both posts, ie. Postman and Mailguard): Matriculation from a recognized Board or University.

 

Age Limit: 18—27yrs as on 20.05.2015. Upper age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates and 10 years for PWD candidates. Relaxation for Ex-servicemen will be as per govt. norms.

 

Pay Scale: Rs. 5200 – 20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 + admissible allowances as prescribed from time to time.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through an Aptitude Test which will be of the level of 10th class/matriculation covering – General Knowledge, Reasoning and Analytical Ability (Multiple Choice Question), Mathematics (Multiple Choice Question), English Language – (Objective Type – Multiple Choice Question) and Regional Language (Objective Type Multiple Choice Question).

Total 100 Marks; Time – 90 minutes.

Examination Centres — Kolkata, Siliguri, Gangtok, Port Blair, Midnapore and Krishnanagar

Selection is based on Divisional level merit from among the qualified candidates applied for the Division / Unit concerned.

Examination Fee and Registration Fee: Rs.400/- for Examination Fee and Rs.100/- for Registration Fee.

No Examination Fee in case of SC/ST, PH and Women Candidates. However, Registration Fee is applicable to all candidates.

FEE is to be paid through nearest e-payment Post Offices (Visit the URL given below for list of e-payment Post Offices in West Bengal) in cash by means of system generated fee challan. (Fee challan will be generated automatically during submission of online Application form).

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply Online only through the official website of West Bengal Postal Circle — http://wbpost.eadmissions.net (See live URL to Application form given below) from dated 21/04/2015 to 20/05/2015 (till midnight).

During registration, candidates will require to upload scan copy of passport size photograph and signature.

After successful registration, a provisional Unique Registration Number (URN) will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. The applicant has to use the registration number and password for login in into the website where he / she can generate the challan in triplicate to pay the fee. Applicant has to take out a print out of the system generated fee Payment Challan.

Candidates must retain the Registration Number and Password for future references. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/ DOCUMENTS TO INDIA POST AT THIS STAGE.

Note: Candidates may apply for only one Postal Division / Unit. Applying for more than one Division/Unit may lead to cancellation of the application form.
