West Bengal SSC – Recruitment of 185 Fire Engine Operator-cum-Driver. Last Dt. 19/12/2014

West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC), Kolkata, is inviting online/offline application recruitment of 185 “Fire Engine Operator-cum-Driver”. Interested and eligible candidates may either apply online or offline only on prescribed application format (See URL address below). Name of the Post: FIRE ENGINE OPERATOR-CUM-DRIVER
Number of Vacancies: 185 posts. [Gen—101; SC—41; ST—11; BC(A)—19; BC(B)—13]

 

Educational Qualification: Class VIII pass from recognized board AND must have valid heavy vehicle driving license with minimum 5 years experience of driving.

 

Physical Standards: Height – 5 feet 2.5 inches; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—32inches/ 34inches.

 

Age Limit: Not less than 18yrs and not more than 32 years as on 01-01-2014.
Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC and ST candidates of West Bengal, by 3 years for BC – A and BC – B candidates of West Bengal. Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen is as per Govt. norms.

 

Pay Scale: Rs.7100 — Rs.37600/- and Grade Pay: Rs.3200/- per month

 

Selection of the candidates will be carried by West Bengal Staff Selection Commission. If the number of applicants applying for the vacancies is less then Commission may conduct Driving Test followed by Interview but if the number of applicant is large then Commission may also conduct Written Examination for screening purpose. In that case candidates who will qualify the written test will be called further for Driving test and Interview. See officially released advertisement for more details.

 

Examination & Processing Fee: Candidates applying online or offline must pay Application Fee of Rs.200/– and Processing Fee of Rs.20/-, i.e in total Rs.220/-. Whereas SC/ST candidates must pay Processing Fee of RS.20/-. There is no Examination Fee for SC/ST candidates.

Candidates applying Online shall pay the above prescribed fee through Online Mode using Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking during submission of online application form.

Candidates applying OFFLINE shall pay the Application Fee through Post Offices having E-Payment facility. This facility is available is available almost in every Post Office of West Bengal. The concerned Post Office will give a receipt against deposit of examination/processing fee which must be pasted on the Application form at the space provided. SC/ST candidates of other States will be treated as General candidates hence such candidates must pay fee in full.

 

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may either apply ONLINE or OFFLINE (Hard Copy) only through the official website of WBSSC (See URL address below). However for many advantage of online application over offline mode application, it is advisable to apply online for the vacancies.

ONLINE APPLICATION: To apply online simply visit the official website of WBSSC — www.wbssc.gov.in and fill the online application. For detailed instruction on how to apply online, please go through the officially released advertisement available in the official website (See URL address below)
Upon successful submission of online application form, the system generated Registration Slip with unique Registration Number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out and shall retain the same for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/DOCUMENTS TO THE COMMISSION.

OFFLINE APPLICATION: To apply Offline, i.e. on hard copy prescribed application format, candidates must download the prescribed format only from the commission’s website. Each application form will consist a unique Registration Number and Application format must be printed on both side of a 75 GSM A4 Size white paper, otherwise Application form will be cancelled.
It is advisable for candidates willing to apply offline to purchase the Application format from the authorized Tathya Mitra Kendras available in your town/ locality at cost of Rs.6/- only.

The duly filled application form (Offline mode) shall be sent by Post at the following address – “SECRETARY-CUM-CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS, WEST BENGAL STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION, Mayukh Bhaban, Salt Lake, Kolkata – 700091”

Candidates applying Offline should paste fee payment receipt and one passport size photograph on the Application form. Do not enclose any documents/ testimonials with the Application form

Superscribe the application containing envelope with the NAME OF THE RECRUITMENT and the NAME OF THE POST applied for
