Institute minimum shortlisting criteria for an Assistant Professor (Grade I and Grade II):
- Ph.D. with 3 years experience (excluding the experience gained while pursuing a Ph.D.) only for Grade I.
- For Grade II, a Ph.D. is the qualifying requirement.
- First class or equivalent grade in preceding degree in respective discipline, with a consistently good academic record.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and communicate well.
- The maximum age is 35 years for male and 38 years for female candidates (to be relaxed by 5 years in case of persons with physical disability, SC, and ST and 3 years in case of OBC-NCL).
- At least 4 refereed conference/journal papers, of which at least 2 should be in reputed journals.

H.1. Current Employment:
Candidates currently employed in Government, Semi-Government Organizations, Public Undertakings, Universities, and Educational Institutions must obtain consent from their present employers before applying. In case of an unavoidable delay in forwarding applications through the proper channel, they may submit advance copies via the portal, notifying the Dean (Faculty), IIT Delhi, or present a No Objection Certificate during the interview. All experience certificates indicating designation, pay, and tenure must be authentically signed and sealed by the employer.
H.2. Category Certificates:
Candidates are required to submit valid SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/EWS certificates, issued in the prescribed format by the competent authority, along with the application form. An up-to-date OBC-NCL/EWS certificate, following the Government of India’s prescribed format, must be included.
H.3. Post Availability:
The Institute reserves the right to decide whether to fill or leave vacant any or all of the advertised posts.
H.4. Interview Selection Criteria:
The Institute has the authority to limit the number of candidates for the interview, considering qualifications, experience, and academic achievements beyond the minimum specified in the advertisement.
H.5. Interview Invitation:
The invitation for an interview indicates a preliminary consideration that the candidate, along with others, may be suitable for the position. It does not guarantee the recommendation, selection, or acceptance of the conditions mentioned in the application.
H.6. Shortlisting for Interview:
The Institute will call for an interview only those candidates shortlisted based on qualifications, experience, research, publication records, and individual academic unit requirements. Outstation candidates attending a personal interview will be reimbursed 2-Tier AC Railway fare or economy class airfare by the shortest route within India. For candidates coming from abroad, reimbursement is limited to Rs.40,000/- or the actual fare (whichever is less) based on the shortest route to Delhi. Air tickets should be booked through authorized agencies such as M/S Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd, M/S Ashoka Travels and Tours, and M/S Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd.
