Eligibility Criteria for NIFT Recruitment 2024
The eligibility criteria for applying for NIFT Group C are as follows:
Educational Qualification:
- Machine Mechanic: 10th or above passed from a recognized Board/ Institution.
- Assistant (Finance & Accounts): Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Commerce.
- Assistant Warden (Girls): Graduate from a recognized University/ Institution.
- Stenographer Grade III: Graduate from a recognized University/ Institution.
- Junior Assistant: Passed 10+2 examination from a Board or its equivalent recognized by the Government.
- Library Assistant: Graduate/Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science from a recognized University/Institution.
- Lab Assistant: 10th or above passed from a recognized Board/ Institution.
Age Limit:
Candidates’ age limit should not be less than 27 years. The maximum upper age limit for NIFT employees may be relaxed up to five years or the total length of service rendered, whichever is less.
Age Relaxation:
The upper age limit is relaxable up to 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC subject to the production of a Caste Certificate issued by the Competent Authority. Age relaxation of 10 years is allowed (a total of 15 years for SCs/STs and 13 years for OBCs who are PwBD).
Application Fee:
Application fee in INR will be applicable as detailed below.
- General, EWS & OBC: Rs.590/-
- SC/ST/PWD/Female/NIFT Employee: Nil
Candidates can pay their application fee through online mode using NEFT, Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI by accessing the NIFT portal www.nift.ac.in/kolkata or through Demand Draft.

NIFT Recruitment Selection Process 2024
Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the written test and/or skill/technical test. If they pass the written test, they will proceed to the skill/technical test, if applicable. The number of candidates admitted to the skill/technical test will be determined by the Institute based on performance in the written test and/or skill/technical test.
How to Apply for NIFT Recruitment 2024
Visit the NIFT Kolkata website at https://www.nift.ac.in/kolkata/careers and download the application form.
Complete the application form with the required details as per the prescribed format.
Place the filled-in application form, along with self-attested copies of relevant documents, certificates, and testimonials as proof of Age/Date of Birth, Educational Qualifications, Caste, Experience, etc., in a sealed envelope.
Address the sealed envelope to the Joint Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology, NIFT Campus, Block-LA, Plot-3B, Sector-III, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700106.
Write “Application for the post of ______________” on the envelope to indicate the specific position you are applying for.
If submitting the application fees online, attach the receipt of the payment. If paying via Demand Draft, ensure it is drawn in favor of ‘NIFT Kolkata’ payable at Kolkata. Do not staple the demand draft but attach it securely at the top of the application form. Write your name and the post applied for on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.
If currently employed in Government Departments and/or PSUs/Semi-Government/Autonomous Bodies under the Government, apply through the proper channel. Include a “No Objection Certificate” from your employer stating that you will be relieved within three months or earlier upon receipt of the appointment orders, along with vigilance clearance.
Submit the complete application package as per the specified instructions within the given deadline.
