Railway Recruitment Board Recruits Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) in the various Zones of Indian Railways as per the vacancy requirement. Usually Indian Railways every year does not release the RRB JE Recruitment Notification. Lastly, they recruited in 2018 for the post of RRB JE. According to reports from various unofficial sources, the Railway Recruitment Board of Indian Railways may hold the RRB JE Examination in 2024. RRB JE 2024 Post Details

1. JUNIOR ENGINEER

Educational Qualification: Diploma/ Degree in Engineering in relevant disciplines. For more details please see the Official Advt.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 33 years
Pay: Rs.35,400/- per month. (Expected)

2. JUNIOR ENGINEER (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)

Educational Qualification: PGDCA/ B.Sc (Computer Science)/ BCA/ B.Tech (Information Technology)/ B.Tech (Computer Science)/ DOEACC ‘B’ Level course of three years duration or equivalent from recognized University/ Institute.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 33 years
Pay: Rs.35,400/- per month. (Expected)

3. DEPOT MATERIAL SUPERINTENDENT (DMS)

Educational Qualification: Diploma/ Degree in Engineering from any discipline.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 33 years
Pay: Rs.35,400/- per month. (Expected)

4. CHEMICAL & METALLURGICAL ASSISTANT (CMA)

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 45% marks.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 33 years
Pay: Rs.35,400/- per month. (Expected)

RRB JE 2024 Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for various positions under the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) involves a systematic series of stages. Applicants are required to submit a single online application, which is applicable to all notified posts in the opted RRB, including Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer (Information Technology) [JE(IT)], Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). The key stages of the recruitment process include:

1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT):
   • Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates with a scribe)
   • Number of Questions: 100
   • The 1st stage of CBT serves as a screening test, with questions conforming to educational standards and technical qualifications required for the posts.
   • The normalized score of the 1st stage exam is used for shortlisting candidates for the 2nd stage exam.
   • The questions cover subjects such as Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science.
2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT):
   • Shortlisting for the 2nd Stage CBT is based on normalized marks obtained in the 1st Stage CBT.
   • The total number of candidates shortlisted for the 2nd Stage is 15 times the community-wise total vacancy of posts notified against the RRB.
   • Duration: 120 minutes (160 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates with a scribe)
   • Number of Questions: 150
   • The syllabus includes General Awareness, Physics and Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Applications, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control, and Technical Abilities.
   • Questions in Technical Abilities are based on the educational qualifications specified for each post.
3. Discipline Mapping Tables:
   • Educational qualifications are mapped to specific Exam Groups based on the discipline.
   • For example, candidates with a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering may fall under the Mechanical and Allied Engineering Exam Group.
   • The mapping ensures candidates are tested in subjects relevant to their educational background.

RRB JE 2024 How to Apply: 

Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) – Indian Railways after the notification is published (See the Application form’s link given below).

Upon successful payment of the prescribed fee and submission of the online application form, the system-generated Registration/acknowledgment slip with a unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
