CONSTABLE / LADY CONSTABLE
Educational Qualification:Â Madhyamik Examination passed from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
The applicant must be able to speak, read, and write in Bengali language. However, this provision will not apply to persons who are permanent residents of the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 yrs and Maximum 27 yrs
Pay Scale: Rs.22700 — Rs.58500(Expected)
WBP Constable Recruitment Selection Process 2024
The selection process for West Bengal Police constables includes five stages:
- Preliminary Written Test (100 marks)
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Final Written Exam (85 marks)
- Interview (15 marks)
The selection process for West Bengal Police constables consists of five stages:
Stage 1: Preliminary Written Test
- Subjects: General Awareness and General Knowledge, Reasoning, Elementary Mathematics
- Total Marks: 100
- Qualifying nature: The scores are not considered for the final merit list.
Stage 2: PMT (Physical Measurement Test)
- Candidates who pass the preliminary written test undergo PMT.
- Physical parameters such as height, weight, and chest expansion are examined.
- Stage 3: PET (Physical Efficiency Test)
Candidates qualifying for PMT participate in PET.
- Requirement: Completion of a 1600-meter run within six minutes and thirty seconds.
- Stage 4: Final Written Exam
- Subjects: Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, and General Knowledge
Total Marks: 85
- The results of this exam are considered in the merit list.
- Stage 5: Interview
- Candidates who pass the final written exam undergo an interview.
Interview marks: 15
- Questions focus on wide general awareness.
- A merit list is created based on the marks obtained in the final exam and interview.
The posts of Constable/Lady Constable in the West Bengal Police shall be filled up based on qualifying the Preliminary Written Test which will act as a screening examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination and Interview to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
